Our willingness to administer the anti-covid vaccine in the company is an important step and appreciated by many. To us it seemed natural, given the path that the VAG group has always followed. We want to contribute to restarting the economy of our region and country safely and as soon as possible. Our main concern has always been the development of Vallefoglia (where we produce almost all of our products for commercial and industrial refrigeration) and of all the communities, in our Region and beyond, that are linked to our Group.
From the individual protection devices donated to the Municipal Police of the Municipality of Vallefoglia, to the medical equipment provided to the Marche Nord Hospital, to the repeated screening of employees: the guarantee of health is the only way to return to the much desired normality and the vaccine is the safest and most effective tool to come out together from this period which claimed many victims and caused a strong slowdown in some business activities.
In concrete terms, and given previous experience, we have the space, organization and facilities to set up a vaccination point when doses become available, regardless of what type of serum we may use.
We are certainly not worried about the much-debated issue of vaccine storage in recent weeks. In our accredited research center “Vag Refrigeration Laboratory”, a unique center in Europe, we have 50 cubic meter cold rooms which can be cooled down to -40°C. In this laboratory we test and develop special refrigerators in cooperation with our customers that can reach even lower temperatures.
We design and manufacture refrigeration “engines”, refrigeration circuits made up of compressors, exchangers and other components that refrigerator or cold storage room manufacturers then integrate into their units. We are talking about special refrigerators, medical equipment of which Italy is one of the largest producers in Europe, and storage cells used for storage at very low temperatures.
These products are obviously not comparable with normal domestic refrigerators, in which innovation, expertise in the field of thermal and fluid dynamics and the latest generation of electronic technology work in synergy to achieve extraordinary and eco-sustainable performance. These features are present in all our models, which are not only intended for the medical sector (another example: the Vitrifrigo portable units for transporting blood and blood products), but also for other markets such as food retail, HO.RE.CA (Hotel-Restaurant-Café), supermarkets, the food industry, logistics and data centres: from small power units to refrigeration units, from evaporators to condensers, passing through condensing units and monoblocks (all Rivacold branded) up to Vitrifrigo brand refrigerators for hotels, boating, automotive and coffee machines.
